IntroductionInnovation has been a hot topic in research in recent years, allowing us to explore how innovation can improve society and human life from a variety of perspectives. After hosting the second International Conference on Innovation Studies, we return to our original focus on “human-centered, indigenous innovation and mutual value creation.” With humanistic concern as our longitude, and local context as our latitude, we raise humanistic innovation as our guiding pole to complement the limitations of technological innovation.

Adopting “Human-centered Indigenous Innovation: Trans-disciplinary Dialogue” as the theme for the 2016 International Conference on Innovation Studies, we have invited experts and scholars, both from Taiwan and abroad, in six major areas, including: cognitive science, cultural and creative industries and digital humanities, communication studies, information technology and service industries, rural education and future talent cultivation, and social innovation and entrepreneurship. Together, participants will explore innovation topics through paper presentations, transdisciplinary dialogues, and other creative formats. Join us in striking further sparks of innovation with transdisciplinary dialogue.
